He was predeceased by : his parents, William Ames and Ruth Johnston; his stepfather Leo Johnson; his daughter Theresa Lynn Ames; and his brother Gary W. Ames.
He is survived by : his wife Sandra Kay Ames; his daughters, Cynthia Ames-Lilly (Richard), Holly Johnson (Ronald), Lindsey Ames-Kolaroff (James) and Melissa Ames-Crowe (Chris); his grandchildren, Aaron Ames (Rachel), Garrett Crowe (Lacia), Christian Crowe (Megan), Alyssa Crowe (Dajuan), Nathan Crowe (Savannah), Thad Kolaroff, Magon Lilly, Jennifer Livingston (Blake), Ronald Johnson, Stacy Latta (Bryan) and Ryan Johnson (Jennifer); his great grandchildren, Madyson, David, Penelope, Vivienne, Colette, Bronson, Avery, Alex, Rosalee, Warren, Waylan and Brayton; his brothers, Frank Ames (Martha) and Scott Gelow (Jackie); and his sister-in-law Florence Ames.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bill's honor to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Trenton, MI or the Marine Corps League Downriver Detachment 153 in Lincoln Park, MI.
