He was predeceased by: his parents, Ioan Barjuca and Elisabeta Barjuca; and his sister Silvia. He is survived by: his wife Maria Barjuca; his children, Siminel (Ana), Adriana (Augustin), Valentin (Laura), Octavian, Beniamin, Teofil (Emma) and Iosif; his grandchildren, Simona, Naomi, Andrei, David, Magdiel, Nicusor, Ionatan, Daniel, Robert, Rachel, Jessica, Maya, Sofia and Eli; and his brother Ioan Barjuca. He is also survived by his 13 great-grandchildren.
