He was predeceased by : his parents, Dale Day and Louise Pence. He is survived by : his close friend Shelia; his nephew Kevin (Ashley); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Brooks and Duke; and his sisters, Karen Day and Mary Parrish.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ford Funeral Home (26560 Van Dyke Avenue, Center Line, MI 48015). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Great Lakes National Cemetery (4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48441).

Donations can be made in Duane's honor to the Michigan Humane Society.
