He was predeceased by: his siblings, George, Pantelis Georgakakis, John Proestakis, Louise Kapodistrias (Proestakis) and Evangeline Proestakis; and his nephews, Danny Kapodistrias and Anthony Georgakakis.

He is survived by: his siblings, Sofia Proestakis, Artemis (Proestakis) and Harry Proestakis; and his siblings' children, John Proen, Angelo, Debbie Proen, Bob Proen, Anna, Constantine Roumeliotis, Athena, Sam Qandah, Roula Kapodistrias, Helen, Pete Thomopoulos and George Georgakakis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 760 W. Wattles, Troy.
