He was predeceased by : his wife Suzanne (Arsman); his son James; his parents, Theoharis and Eleni (Terezakis); his stepmother Athena; and his siblings, Catherine Manos (Peter), James Aretakis (Mary), Ernest Aretakis (Emmie), Ethel Poulos, Dolly Daian and George Aretakis (Darlyne).

He is survived by : his children, Steve (Shelagh), Helene Lionas (James), Nicholas (Cynthia) and Alex (Maria); his daughter-in-law Kate; his grandchildren, Michael Lionas (Angelina), John Lionas (Yuliana), Nicholas Lionas (Amanda), John Aretakis (Lauren), Rachel Aretakis, Alexander Aretakis (Corey), Christopher Aretakis, Ellen Aretakis, Bennett Aretakis (Leah), Lily Aretakis, Grace Aretakis and James Aretakis; his great grandchildren, Demetrios, Nikolas, Lucas, Alexa, Scotty and Eleni; and his sister-in-law Darlyne Aretakis. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
