He is survived by: his sons, Joseph II (Alison), James (Michele), Daniel (Patti) and John (Jan); his grandchildren, Aaron (Christianna), Amanda, David (Jennifer), Laura (Aaron), Elizabeth (Seth), John (Lyndsay), Scott (Rachel) and James (Lakota); his great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Victoria, Theo, Harper, Jamey and Brooks; and his siblings, Robert, Mary Ann (late Warner) and Theresa.
