She was predeceased by: her former husband Edward Thomas; her parents, Carl Lemonds (Countiss Jean Lemonds) and Countiss Jean Lemonds; her brothers, Doyle (Scottie), Donald (Janice) and Buel Lemonds (Carol Goggins); her brother-in-law Chuck Huff; her stepdaughter Susan Martin (Russell); her nephew Barry Sanders; her niece Kay Lemonds-Matter; her great-nephews, David Sanders and Chance Lemonds; and her great-niece Jessica Thomas.

She is survived by: her husband Roy L. Fanning Jr.; her sister Sue Huff; her stepdaughter Debbie Freeman (David); her stepgrandchildren, Maddie Freeman, Sasha Eigsti (Ryan), Dustin Martin and Sara Glantz (Aaron); her nieces and nephews, Debbie Sanders, Danna Guille, Kelly Carpenter (Steve), Denise Bushnell (John), Jeff Lemonds, Mark Lemonds, Michael Lemonds (Dawn) and Craig Lemonds (Victoria); and her son Troy. She is also survived by 14 great-nieces and nephews and 18 great-great-nieces and nephews.

After an interview with Don Taylor on the 14th floor of the Mott Foundation Building, she was swiftly hired.
