Michael George Kassarjian Obituary

Michael George Kassarjian, age 73, of Troy, died Monday January 4, 2021. He was born September 20, 1947 in Detroit, to George Aram and Colleen Cecil (Downing) Kassarjian. Michael grew up in Royal Oak and graduated in 1965 from Waterford High School. Mr. Kassarjian proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, receiving the Marksmanship Badge and National Defense Service Medal.

He operated Kassarjian's Upholstery out of his home in Troy, reupholstering and working on furniture for many years…helping families and businesses throughout the area. Michael enjoyed "picking"; gathering, finding, trading and collecting things of all sorts…including coins and traditional American made Lionel Train sets.

Mr. Kassarjian is survived by his children: Jacquelyn (Joshua) Hill of Roseville, California, Michael Kassarjian of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; Michelle Kassarjian of Troy and Breanne (Miro) Faouzi; grandchildren: Mason, Logan, Sophia, Mikey and Lukas; brothers: George Kassarjian, Jr. of Lapeer and Peter Kassarjian of Lapeer.

He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Colleen Kassarjian. In accordance with Michael's wishes cremation has been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. Mr. Kassarjian's cremains will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
