He was predeceased by: his brother Robert Nichols. He is survived by: his wife Sandy (Hunt); his children, Sheryl Brock (Gary), Sheila Reitz (Jarred) and Willie Nichols; his siblings, Clifton Nichols (Mary Lou), Harland Nichols (Susan) and Lula Bell Short; and his grandchildren, Matthew Laney, Kevin Laney (Kelsey), Kyle Laney, Nick Rietz (Andrea) and Allison Demann (Cameron). He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Buresh Funeral Home - Twining (15 Maple Ridge Rd, Twining, MI 48766). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at the Cedar Vally Cemetery.
