We announce the death of Frances Johanna Balzer of Unionville, Michigan, who passed away on June 12, 2026, at the age of 92. Frances will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Strieter and Pauline Strieter (Arps); her siblings, Betty, Velma, Arnold, Caroline, Pauline and Paul; her grandsons, Michael Hofmeister and Jeremy Lupp; and her husband Melvin Balzer (A. W. Wilkening).
She is survived by: her children, Patricia Hofmeister (David), Renea Tarzwell (Rod), Sue O'Neil (Rob) and Ron Balzer (Ann); her grandchildren, Amy Hofmeister, Karen Habte (Melaku), Amy Tietz (Doug), Steve Tarzwell (Andrea), Sara Mastie (Nathan), Brandon Lupp (Cortney), Janelle Estelle (John), Samuel Balzer (Haley), Andrew Balzer (Becca) and Danielle Balzer (Bryston); her stepgrandchildren, Matthew O'Neil and Mallorie Brown (Josh); and her great grandchildren, Joshua, Ashley, Lindsay Hofmeister, Edward, Katie Tietz, Solyanna Habte, Grace, Kyle Mastie, Sydney, Sawyer Lupp, Lily Lupp, Ezra, Ella Estelle, Rhett and Sutton Balzer.
