He was predeceased by: his mother Dorothy Heckman (Kain); his siblings, Ronald Heckman and Judy Heckman; and his grandson Caleb. He is survived by: his father Melvin Heckman; his wife Carolyn Sue Bell; his sons, William Heckman, Brad (Tina Heckman) and Brian (Heather Heckman); his grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin, Allison, Alanna, Avery and Oliver; and his sister-in-law Carol Smith. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ellington Church of the Nazarene (2545 Lazelle Rd, Caro, MI 48723). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
