With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Irene T Szambelan (Utica, Michigan), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 1, 2025 at the age of 100. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Irene T Szambelan to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Burt Orlowski and Domicela Orlowski; her husband John; her son Larry Szambelan; and her sister Lillian Orlowski.

She is survived by: her children, Chrissy Sprock (Edward), Robert Szambelan (Sara) and Sharon Manzo (Mike); her grandchildren, John (Liz), David (Carmen), Matthew (Maeve), Anna (Ian), Michael (Chelsea), Robyn, Nicholas (Marissa), Andrew (Erin), Daniel and Rachel (Anthony); and her great grandchildren, Eva, Julia of Scarlett, EJ, Finn, Connolly, Olivia, Warren and Kennedy. She is also survived by Her children, grand children and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wasik Funeral Home (49150 Schoenherr Rd, Shelby Twp, MI 48315). A rosary will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc. (49150 Schoenherr Rd, Shelby Twp, MI 48315). The lying in state will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church (44429 Utica Rd, Utica, MI 48317). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
