He was predeceased by: his father Harry Brouwer; his wife Geraldine S. Brouwer; and his brother James "Tank" Brouwer. He is survived by: his sons, Eric Brouwer (Julie) and Jason Brouwer; his grandchildren, Kyle and Lauryn Brouwer; and his brothers, Dave "Gut" Brouwer, Richard "Foot" Brouwer (Kristine) and Kevin Brouwer (Debbie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
