He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Austin and June Jeanette Lutes (French); his brother Stephen Lutes; his siblings-in-law, Wayne Hauer and Erin Lutes; his son-in-law David Pulley; and his grandson Joey Pulley.
He is survived by: his wife Onita McCray; his daughters, Karla (Steve Hawkins), Rita Lutes-Pulley of Mt. Pleasant, Rosa (Camilo Chavez), Marilu (Mirek Bartczak) and Briana (Craig Evans); and his siblings, Alan Lutes (Karen) of Alpena, Joan Hauer of Alpena, Jill Lutes of Alpena, Dennis Lutes (Charlene) of Traverse City, Tim Lutes (Kathleen) of Presque Isle, Donna Franzen (Ron) of Mt. Pleasant and Randy Lutes of Mt. Pleasant. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
