With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Sue Rishel of Vicksburg, Michigan, born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, who passed away on March 16, 2023 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Leroy VanMaanen and Alice VanMaanen (Boss); her son Mark John Rishel; her son-in-law Thomas Geyer; her grandson Kenneth Duchene, Jr.; and her siblings, Leroy, Jack and Sonnie VanMaanen.

She is survived by : her husband John W. Rishel; her daughters, Sherri Barwegen (Michael), Victoria Geyer, Alana DePriest (Matthew) and Christina Duchene (Kenneth); her grandchildren, Abrahame Barwegen (Rachel), Solomon, Elizabeth, Nathaniel Barwegen, Isabel, Lily, Abby Geyer, Daniel DePriest, Anna, Gracie, Emma Rea, Zachary, Hannah and Alice Duchene; and her great grandchild Noel Barwegen.

I will always have such special memories of our time working together at the fabric store, times and events shared with our children, and a special Christmas potluck for the Cunningham Fabric families when your new addition had been finished.
