It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jay Franklin Smith of Vicksburg, Michigan, born in Huntington, Indiana, who passed away on March 9, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude W. Smith and Elizabeth Smith (Keifer); and his son-in-law Dan Ramlow. He is survived by: his wife Mary Anne (VandeMaele); his children, Tammy Ramlow of Scotts, Laurie Smith (Mike Fortuna) of Mesa, AZ, Christopher Smith (Mary) of Schoolcraft, Bonnie Loveland (Bill) of Plainwell and Kelly Hinga (Mike) of Portage; his grandchildren, John Ramlow, Susie Bauman, Jason Smith, Nichole Kladder, Megan Danks, Mark Loveland, Matthew Loveland and Lydia Hinga; and his pet Jake. He is also survived by 12 great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, those that wish may make contributions to St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church.
