He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph "Sam" Opolka and Viola Opolka (Laurila); his brother Steven Opolka; his brothers-in-law, Stephen Podgornik and Joe Butler; and his niece Heather Janssen.
He is survived by: his children, Paul Opolka Jr. (Carrie), Sara Toreson (Nick) and Katy Kiser (Brutus); his grandchildren, Ashlyn Opolka, Alexis, William Toreson, Beau, Finley, Pemene Kiser and Alec Christiansen; and his sisters, Diane Peppler (Roger), Lori Opolka and Kathy Butler. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins; also, many special caretakers.
