He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyle Edward and Ilta Sulamit Thompson (Maki); his son-in-law Bruce Jacobson; and his siblings, John E. Thompson and Christine I. Giovanoni.
He is survived by: his children, Chad Thompson (Melissa), Stacy Petersen (Aaron) and Heather Jacobson; his stepson Mickey Peterson (Dana); his grandchildren, Dylan Thompson (Sydney), Bella Thompson, Joel Thompson, Morgan Petersen, Alyssa Petersen, Johnathan Petersen, Austin Peterson (Sophi), Caden Peterson, Baylie Peterson, Michael Jacobson (Nicole), Michelle Jacobson and Benjamin Jacobson; his siblings, William Thompson, Robin Thompson and Linnea Peymbroeck (Nelson); and his close friend Debbie Maki. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the American Legion (605 River St, Wakefield, MI 49968).
