Christel leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Christel’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Christel will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: parents: Rudolph Behrend and Charlotte Siebert; husband: Volkmar Schwedes; daughters: Diana (Ernie) and Lorraine (Gary); grandchildren: Christiana, Melina, and Grant; siblings: Max, Annchen, Rudi, Gerda, Alfred, Erwin, Gertrud, and Hermann; close friend: Helmut Wienand; other: Pastor Paul W. Arndt; and large extended family in Germany and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the D. S. Temrowski and Sons Funeral Home (30009 Hoover Rd, Warren, MI 48093). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery (621 W Long Lake Rd, Troy, MI 48098).
At Christel's request, memorial donations may be made towards Pastor Paul W. Arndt's mission work.
