He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ward and Madonna Ward; and his sister Carol Lee. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ward; his children, Deborah Burks (Randall), Karen Lietke (late Mark) and David Ward (Anna); his grandchildren, Lottie Lietke, Joseph Lietke, Angela Ward and Jennifer Ward; and his siblings, Rosie Pipesh and Donald Ward. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
