It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Nelson of Warren, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on October 1, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold VanWagner and Marie VanWagner; her husband Gilbert; and her sister Kathleen. She is survived by: her children, Kevin Nelson and Karen Cool (Jimmy); her grandchildren, Dustin (Meghan), Charlie, Shauna (Matt), Nathan and Jacob (Meghan); her great grandchildren, Ethen Griffen, Cecil and Addy; her siblings, Barbara, Butch, Marie and Fred; and her close friends, Michelle Grabowski and Shirley Mannikko. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who she thought of as her kids.
