He was predeceased by: his parents, Gunar Peterson and Julie Peterson; and his brother-in-law James Kolley (late Sylvia). He is survived by: his wife Judith "Judy" Peterson; his children, Pamela Brereton (Kenny), Mary Peterson (David Orlando), Jeffrey Peterson (Jill) and Scott Peterson (Mary); his grandchildren, Amber Demick (David), Emily Peterson, Megan Dinda (Jeremy), Jenna Peterson, Gunar Peterson, Joey Peterson and Abbey Peterson; his great grandchildren, Leo and Colby Demick; his sister-in-law Patricia Selleke (late Ronald); and his godchildren, John Selleke, Julie Ross-Kline and Leslie Jo Leaym (Grabowski). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the D. S. Temrowski and Sons Funeral Home (30009 Hoover Rd, Warren, MI 48093). A prayer will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Church (2500 12 Mile Rd, Warren, MI 48092).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Rainbow Connection of Michigan, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Wounded Warrior Project.
