He was predeceased by: his wife Rosemarie; and his son-in-law James Gatny. He is survived by: his brother Donald Kachman (Donna); his children, Michael Kachman III (Carol Clark), Laurie Harkins (James), William Kachman (Judy MacLeod), Janette Gatny and Lary Kachman (Michelle); his nieces, Christine Streno (Michael) and Debra Imbronone; and his nephew Mark Imbronone. He is also survived by one great niece, eleven grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the D. S. Temrowski and Sons Funeral Home (30009 Hoover Rd, Warren, MI 48093). A rosary was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Anne Catholic Church (32000 Mound Rd, Warren, MI 48092).
