He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Thorne and Lorraine Thorne; and his son John Thorne. He is survived by: his wife Judy Thorne; his son Mark Thorne; his grandson Danny Thorne (Melanie); and his siblings, Gary Thorne (Judy), Sandra Kay Borgon (Frank) and John Thorne (Sandy). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church (31555 Hoover Rd, Warren, MI 48093). The inurnment will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Great Lakes National Cemetery (4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442).
