It is with sadness that the passing of Chester Surant of Washington, Michigan is shared. Chester, born on August 26, 1927, passed away on September 8, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Surant and Alexandria (Alice); and his wife Lucille Surant. He is survived by: his children, Michele Ryskamp (late Mark), Mark Surant (Maxine Kennebrew), Kirk Surant, Suzanne Gillespie (Doug), David Surant (Ravanna), Paul Surant (Michelle), Cheron Varga (John) and Darcy Green (Alan); his great great grandchild Noah Arnold; and his sister-in-law Delores Svoboda (Gary). He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and step-grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wasik Funeral Home (49150 Schoenherr Rd, Shelby Twp, MI 48315). A rosary was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. The lying in state was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church (343 S Main St, Romeo, MI 48065). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
