He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Carlson and Norma Carlson (Aldridge); his wife Dolores Carlson; his siblings, John "Jack" Carlson (late Jeanette), Eleanor Rachar (late Donald) and Dale Carlson (late Pauline); his aunt Clara; his uncle Manuel Moreno; his niece Lisa Snodsmith; and his nephew Guy Smith.

He is survived by: his children, Cara Carlson and David Borovoy; his nieces and nephews, Rick Carlson (Jane), Darla Carlson, Kathy Carlson, Gayla Pijanowski (late Ron), Steve Smith (Martha), Marty Smith, Curt Smith (Penny), Rhonda Rachar, Stephanie Robertson (Scott), Mark Bell (Laura Morales) and Andrea Barron (Jim Powers); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Tyler Robertson, Riley Robertson, Kendall Robertson, Kye Snodsmith, Jackson Fraley, Samuel Stepinski, Luna Bell and Lucas Bell; his cousin Dee Moreno (Charles Bachi); his siblings-in-law, Florentino "Joe" Barron (Sheila) and Virginia Bell (late Mike); and his close friends, Judy Goll (AJ), Yolanda Chapa (Bill), Greg Mooney and John Batzloff (Alice).
