He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Susan Chae; his children, Andrew Chae (Amy), Hannah Chae and Mia Chae; his grandchild Camille; his parents, Peter Chae and Veronica Chae; and his siblings, Christopher Chae (Ann), Balbina Kang (Michael) and Susan Choi.
In honor of his journey and in support of ongoing advancements in gastric cancer treatment, the family kindly requests donations to the UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.
