It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Charles Lepola of Watton, Michigan, born in Lanse, Michigan, who passed away on September 18, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles William and Elma Dagmar Lepola (Salli); his wife Helen Lepola; his children, James Charles Jr. and Julie Saarela; his granddaughter Keri Mae LeClaire; his siblings, Melvin Lepola, Gerald Lepola, LaVerne Manz, Loretta Knapp and Luella Teikari; his siblings-in-law, Jeanette Lepola, Ruth Getzloff, Ken Manz, Earl Teikari, Tom Cavanaugh, John Knapp, William Takala, Arvo Jackson, Glenn Getzloff and John Jackson; and his nieces and nephews, Wayne Manz, David Perry, Roger Cavanaugh, Pam Kugler, Susan Lepola, Christy Cavanaugh and Kathleen Getzloff.
He is survived by : his daughter Lynn Lepola of Watton; his son-in-law John Saarela of Champion, MI; his grandson James Patrick LeClaire of L'Anse; his great grandchildren, Austin Seppanen of L'Anse, Abbi Dowd (Ethan) of Baraga, Zachery Dowd of Pelkie, Skylar Mattson (Brett) of L'anse, Tyler LeClaire of Baraga, Payton, Khloe, Anthony LeClaire of Baraga and Hunter Picard of Baraga; his great great grandchildren, Noah Seppanen of L'Anse and Haidyn Mattson of L'Anse; his sisters, Nancy Perry of Covington, Gloria Takala of Watton and Alice Basto (Keith) of Lake Linden; and his brother-in-law Wilbert Teikari of Munising. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
