He was predeceased by: his wife Judy Shafer. He is survived by: his children, Brian Peterman (Kara), Emily Behler (Dennis) and Brandon Shafer; his grandchildren, Madison, Mason Peterman, Oliver, Cora and Elin Behler; his siblings, Karen Hendrick (Jerry) and Doug Shafer; and his siblings-in-law, Cindy Fogg (John) and Wayne Moore. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 20th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, August 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, August 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Wayland United Methodist Church (200 Church St, Wayland, MI 49348).
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Ron, contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
