He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius Ryan and Marion Ryan; his sisters, Joanne and Kathy; and his wife Dee.

He is survived by: his daughters, Maggie Akelis-Ryan and Maureen Gravgaard (Tim); and his stepdaughters, Jamie England and Julie Rothermel-Osugi (Don). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nine nieces and nephews and their children.
