With sadness, we share the passing of John William Murphy of West Bloomfield, Michigan. John William, born on October 22, 1943, passed away on July 28, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Murphy and Stella Murphy; his brother James; his sister-in-law Mary Murphy; and his stepson Paul Shelton.
He is survived by: his wife Martha "Marty" Murphy; his daughters, Carrie Murphy-Kelso (late Scott) and Michelle Thompson (Dana); his grandchildren, Mitchell Thompson and Alexis Thompson; his nephews, John Murphy (Barbara), Dennis Murphy (Cindy) and Michael Murphy (Susan); his niece Cheryl McLeod (Robert); and his stepdaughters, Kathy Stein (Halden) and Jennifer Hood. He is also survived by many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
