He was predeceased by: his wives, Suzanne Katz (Simms) and Dorothy Katz (Goodgall); his siblings, Marvin Katz (late Naomi) and Esther Winer; and his parents, Fanny Katz and Allen Katz.
He is survived by: his close friend Rosan Kaplan; his children, Marlene Glanz (Larry), Susan Shacket (late Rodney), Barbara Kreitman (late Kevan) and Larry Katz (Rhonda); his stepdaughters, Amy Awerbuch (Gavin) and Cherie Engelman; his grandchildren, Devorah Glanz, Devin Shacket, Frances Shacket, Doree Lapping (Jake), Josh Kreitman, Seth Kreitman, Sarah Kreitman, Dana Diachenko (Dan), Stacey Katz, Jessica Katz, Eric Awerbuch (Marina), Adam Awerbuch, Drew Awerbuch, Avery Engelman (Rachel), Dakota Engelman and Levi Engelman; and his great grandchildren, Makayla Diachenko, Makenzie Diachenko, Isla Lapping, Reece Lapping, Max Awerbuch and Sophie Awerbuch. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Hebrew Memorial Chapel (26640 Greenfield Rd, Oak Park, MI 48237).
