He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Helmer and Helen Helmer (Nielson); and his siblings, Philip, Diane and Brian.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Beagle; his children, Scott (Stacy) and Elisabeth (Stanley Ehrenfeld); his grandchildren, Tabitha Helmer, Felix Ehrenfeld and Grayson Helmer; and his siblings, Rick, Cynthia, Alan Joe and Beth. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
