He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Porter and Sarah Edith; his wife Catherine; and his stepson Gary Butler (Judy). He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Mosser (Mike), Cheryl Sikorski, Theresa Van Cleave, Joyce Van Cleave and Patricia Jensen (Keith Johnson); and his stepchildren, Juanita Hickman (Jim), Beverly Jo Pierce (Steven) and Sue Dale. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lynch & Sons Funeral Home - Walled Lake (340 N Pontiac Trail, Walled Lake, MI 48390). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
