He was predeceased by: his parents, Eino Kolehmainen and Sylvia Wendrowski (Stanley); his wife Judith; and his daughter Dawn Krause. He is survived by: his children, Denise Kolehmainen and Don Kolehmainen (Brenda); his grandchildren, Trisha Gabriel (Ryan), Alicia Haller (Doug), Brianna Munoz (Cristian), Samantha Dotson, Matthew Kolehmainen (Nora) and Caitlyn Collier (Joshua); his great grandchildren, Gabriel, Michael, Timothy, Cayden, Levi, Mason, Charlee and Kamryn; and his sisters, Dorothy Bernier (Norm), Doreen Coté (Joe) and Debbie Storm (Duane).
