We announce the death of Loraine Ann Hassa of Westland, Michigan, who passed away on September 14, 2026, at the age of 83. Loraine Ann will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alex Gontarski and Stella Gontarski (Fryzel); and her sister Connie Edwards (late Joe). She is survived by: her husband Larry Roy Hassa; her children, Gary Hassa (Lynn), Bobby Hassa (Janet) and Michelle Warner (Rob); her grandchildren, Alex Hassa (Edith), Megan Hassa, Michael Hassa, Matthew Hassa (Taylor) and Ally Warner; her great grandchildren, Emma Hassa, Damian Hassa and Mallory "MJ" Hassa; and her sister Geri Nicoll (late Harry).
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the L. J. Griffin Funeral Home-Westland (7707 Middlebelt Rd, Westland, MI 48185). The lying in state was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In Lieu of flower's donations in memory of Loraine can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
