He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur LaPointe and Lisa LaPointe; and his sister Jo Ann Hoos. He is survived by: his spouse Gail; his children, Kara LaPointe (Peter Bloye), Renee Sorovetz (Joe) and Michel LaPointe (Molly McIntyre); and his grandchildren, Kareigh, Kiernan, Kameron, Koneley, Lucas and Caroline. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The lying in state was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Joy Catholic Church (8200 N Wayne Rd, Westland, MI 48185). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
