He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Pohl and Dora Pohl; his wife Mary Ellen (Platte); his son Allan; his daughter-in-law Sheila; his grandsons, Garrett and Austin; his great grandchild James Thelen; his siblings, Jeannette Beachnau, Elgin, Robert and Anthony; his siblings-in-law, Esten Beachnau, Robert Platte, Robert Bengel, Louis Hengesbach, Bill Thelen, Lorraine Pohl, Ellen Pohl, Marie Pohl, Arlene Koster, Evelyn Hengesbach and Gladys Bengel; and his grandfather Peter Pohl (Mary).

He is survived by: his children, Mark (Sharon), Luke (Janet), Maureen Spitzley (Ken), Tom (Gerardine), Mike (Diane), Dan (Jennifer) and Sarah Thelen (Gary); and his sisters-in-law, Beverly Platte and Diane Thelen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
