As a faithful member of St. Francis Catholic church she joined their quilting group, creating beautiful quilts and wall hangings for charity and the church. Betty was also a dedicated volunteer for organizations such as the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the Alzheimer's organization and the Father Fred Foundation.
