With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Mary J. Bernhardt of Whitehall, Michigan, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Gustav Johnson and Pauline Johnson (Miel); her husband Kenneth Bernhardt; her stepfather Fred Carson; her grandson Nate Bernhardt (Jessica); her brothers, Melvin Johnson (Joann), Leo Johnson (Marie) and Harvey Carson (Jane); her stepbrother Patrick Carson (Grace); and her sisters, Donna Hein (Gus), Ruth McClellan (Ferd) and Bessie Bernhardt (Merle).
She is survived by: her children, JoAnne Silk (Roger) and Richard Bernhardt (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Shelly Berry (Nick), Jeffery Silk, Jeremy Bernhardt (Karrie) and Renae Pike (Brian); her great grandchildren, Hannah, Corbin, Payton, Rylan, Addyson, Shelbie, Seth, Trevin, Kamrin and Jaxson; and her brothers, Paul Carson (Patsy) and Charles Carson (Vida). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and God-children.
