He was predeceased by: his parents, George Tugen and Ruth Tugen (Dershinski). He is survived by: his wife Judy Riedel; his children, Dennis "Mike" Jr. Tugen (Becky), Rick Wolfgang (Megan), Sherri Dial (Randy), Melanie Zaremba, Barry Zaremba, Kerry Zaremba (Rachelle) and Perry Zaremba (Eve); and his siblings, Dora Gillmer (James), Dona Hoyt (Rodney) and George Tugen (Karen). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VNA Hospice.
