He was predeceased by: his parents, William Chie and Dorothy "Pauline" Chie (Witherspoon); and his sister Deborah Brooks (James). He is survived by: his wife Christine Hustyi; his children, William S. Chie and Cheryl Sahagun (Landon); his grandchildren, Abigail and Andrew Sahagun; and his sister Mary Linda Williamson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
