He was predeceased by: his parents, John Coakley and Anne Coakley; and his brother John Coakley. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Coakley; his sons, Patrick Coakley Jr. (Anne), Séan Coakley (Martha) and Timothy Coakley (Bridget); his grandchildren, Patrick III, Brendan (Courtney), Kathleen, Michael, Kelly Anne, Christian and Molly; his great grandchildren, Luke, Lexi and Skyler; and his sister Eileen Coscia. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Czopek Funeral Directors (2157 Oak St, Wyandotte, MI 48192). A rosary was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. The lying in state was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (21599 Parke Ln, Grosse Ile Township, MI 48138). A Mass was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
