He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joan Schultz; his siblings, Janet and Dave; his children, Jakalyn Powers (Brian), Bill Schultz (Kimberly), Matt Schultz and Daniela Windhurst (Christopher); and his grandchildren, Justin, Jerrica, Cari, Cara, Aaron, Sierra, Micala, McKenzie, Lexi, Aubrey, Analeigh, Ariella and Alana. He was also cherished by several great-grandchildren.
