Althea L. Barnes Obituary
Althea L. Barnes, age 72, of Wyoming was called home by her Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 16, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born November 9, 1951 to the late Gerald and Edna Sterk. Althea went on to work as a Nurse's Aide but her true passion was being a mom and grandmother. She met Tim while working together and three dates later they were engaged and have celebrated over 44 years together. Althea was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, 150 50th Street SW, Wyoming and she had a passion for camping, golfing, fishing, needle point but her true passion was her grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Surviving besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Karen (Dwayne) Lancaster; three grandchildren: Moira, Alaina, Aidan and a great-granddaughter, Elianna. Also surviving is a brother-in-law, Phillip (Alice) Barnes; two sisters-in-law: Carol Bateman, Ruthanne Barnes; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Sterk; two brothers-in-law: Donald Jr. and David Barnes. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Zack Marklevitz officiating. Burial at Lakeside Cemetery in Muskegon. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Grace Lutheran Church.
