With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bernice Sweeney of Wyoming, Michigan, who passed away on May 7, 2022 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Smentek and Mary Smentek; her husband Philip; her siblings, Joseph, Edward, Henry, Chester, Leonard and Irene; her son-in-law Robert Veldkamp; her grandson Matthew Smith; and her great grandchildren, Caden and Gabriel.
She is survived by: her children, Pat Mariner (Tim), Sue Myrick-Veldkamp, Barb Williams (Shorty), Michelle McCasland (Mike Taylor), Joan Smith (Jack Veldkamp), Bob Sweeney (Kim) and John Sweeney (Chris). She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
