He was predeceased by: his parents, Ted Zylstra and Esther Zylstra. He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his sons, Todd Busing (Jennifer) and Troy Zylstra (Nicci); his grandchildren, Zachary, Collin, Jacob, Elayna Busing, Alliyah, Ava, Jaxon, Jett, Calyx Zylstra, Leeann, Daetyn and Cohen Lucas; his great grandchildren, Nova, Camden, Ezra and Remi; and his brothers, Robert Zylstra and Ted Zylstra.

Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, MI 49509). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Vianney Church (4101 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, MI 49509).
