He was predeceased by: his father James Louis Erdmans; his stepfather Valentine Fifelski; his mother Rose; his siblings, Joseph Fifelski and JoAnn Drayton; his son-in-law Curt McDowell; and his grandson Joseph Barenie.
He is survived by: his wife Angela Helen (Grasinski); his children, James Erdmans (Julie), Mary Black (Tim), David Erdmans (Kathy), Diane McDowell, Laura Readle (Chris) and Paul Erdmans (Vicki); his siblings, Leon Fifelski (Nyla) and Mary Kinnane; and his grandchildren, Andrew, Jeremiah, Matthew, Elizabeth, Hannah, Michael, Evan, Veronica, Rachel, Brooke and Courtney. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Holy Name of Jesus.
