He was predeceased by: his parents, John Groothuis and Margaret Groothuis; and his siblings, Carole Mackus and David Groothuis. He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his brother Dan Groothuis (Sheryl); his children, Tracy Ferguson (Mark) and Todd Groothuis (Kelly); and his stepchildren, Michelle Rendak, Michael LaFontsee and John LaFontsee (Lisa). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
