He was predeceased by: his father John Thomas; his great grandchild Ashton Collins; and his brother John Thomas (Germaine). He is survived by: his children, Deborah Noetzel, Rick Collins (Diane), Arnold "Joe" Collins (Joyce), Andrew Thomas (Sherry) and Julie Thomas; and his sisters, Molly Huston (Homer) and Barbara Kardell. He is also survived by several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
